A game of golf certainly is a great way to work up a thirst for wine country’s best Pinots and Chardonnays. So before hitting the world-class wineries, bask in the beauty of the sun-kissed hills and greeneries of Napa and Sonoma Valley, by enjoying a round of golf in these scenic courses.

1240 Mayacama Club Drive Santa Rosa, CA 95403
A gated private golf course and residential community, Mayacama is an impressive estate that boasts a two-mile entry drive, leading onto a 675-acre property with a spectacular Mediterranean-style clubhouse elegantly perched on a hill. Its sprawling 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course surrounded by stately oaks and sweeping meadows was designed for the purists (you won’t find any carts here). Rounds are played on foot with a caddie, allowing golfers to enjoy the natural surroundings to the fullest.
The sand-capped par 72 championship layout is beautifully groomed and its tournament-conditioned turf is playable all year round for players at every skill level.
Since it is a private club after all, social memberships will have perks that are just as appealing as its golf course. Mayacama offers a wine program that celebrates a bevy of 35 renowned vintners, and plays host to many events that allow members to taste rare wines that don’t even hit the open market –now that’s what makes golfing in Sonoma County a truly unique and pleasurable experience.
Sonoma Golf Club

Another private facility but open to guests of the nearby luxury resort Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn, the Sonoma Golf Club offers a challenging course featuring a natural rolling layout on a 177-acre land decorated with oak trees and lakes, along with breathtaking views of vineyards and the Mayacama Mountains.
Sweeping over 7,100 yards from the championship tees, the layout is packed with strategic choices and challenges that will surely keep golfers entertained. The Sonoma Golf Club was also the former host of the PGA Champions Tour season ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship.
